The picture depicts the stone sculpture of a man fighting a lion, found at the entrance of Sri Chennakeshava Temple at Belur which is the Royal Emblem of the Hoyasala Dynasty.

Built in the 13th century by the Eastern Ganga dynasty, the Sun Temple was conceived as a gigantic chariot of the Sun God with twelve pairs of exquisitely ornamented wheels pulled by seven horses. The spokes of the wheels also serve as sundials and the shadows cast by these can give the precise time of the day. Each wheel has a diameter of 9 feet 9 inches with 8 spokes.
