Welcome to Varshini 2018 Store
Here is a shining example of adoption of architecture from other regions and of technology. While stepwells are common in the north, it is a rarity in the South India. It is an example of how the rulers of Vijayanagara dynasty were able to use people and knowledge from other regions to build a stepwell for use by public at Hampi. What is more, unlike many places the stepwell in Hampi does not have springs to feed it. Water is pumped from nearby wells through stone made water canals.
